Abstract
In studying the plan of transporting tube elements of immersed tube in shallow water of the Bay Area, this paper researches, with the hydrodynamic potential flow theory, the motion response of shallow-draft semisubmersible barge in that working condition. The hydrodynamic models of the submerged barge and the concrete tube element are constructed with software AQWA respectively. The submerged barge and transported tube element are studied as one system under the condition of the technological parameters of long-distance transporting operation and the environment parameters, such as wind and current. The natural period of the system for different degrees of freedom and the amplitude and acceleration of motion response in 6 dimensions is investigated. The calculated amplitude can provide the reference for transportquality control decision-making and early warning and the value of acceleration can be used as the reference in tube element sealing and reinforcing design and the buttress system design.
