A review of research on ship cyber security situational awareness

With the development of informatization and intelligence in ships, the possibility of cyber-attacks on ship systems is increasing. In order to ensure the normal operation of ship systems, it is important to be aware of the security situation of the ship network. Firstly, this paper summarizes and sorts out the relevant definitions of cyber security situational awareness and ship cyber security to clarify the concept of ship cyber security situational awareness; Secondly, the guidelines for ship cyber security issued by maritime departments such as CCS（China Classification Society） and BIMCO（the Baltic and International Maritime Council） Shipping Association are introduced, and makes a comparative analysis from the perspective of cyber security situational awareness. Then, the methods of ship cyber security situation awareness are summarized from the two aspects of cyber threat awareness and cyber situation assessment and their advantages and disadvantages are also summarized and compared. Finally, the challenges faced by ship cyber security are analyzed, the future development trend of ship cyber security situation awareness is predicted. The research results can provide technical reference for improving the network security defense level of ship systems and building a maritime cyber security management system.
