Research and application of key technology of digital distribution platform for China maritime nautical publications

Nautical publications are instrumental in ensuring the safe navigation of vessels at sea, serving as the fundamental foundation for maritime safety. Over the years, the Shanghai Nautical Chart Center of the Eastern Navigation Service Center has been committed to the compiling, publishing, printing, distribution and technical service, and has built a digital distribution platform for China maritime nautical publications to provide users with comprehensive nautical publications data and information services. This paper introduces the background of the construction of the digital distribution platform for China maritime nautical publications as well as the general idea, focuses on the the research and achievements of the key technologies of print-on-demand synergistic high-fidelity colour printing, encryption of S-63 Electronic Nautical Charts and online updating of Electronic Navigational Charts and so on during the process of the platform's construction, and compares the results of the research with the relevant domestic and foreign organizations, and finally makes a comprehensive summary of the application of the platform in the past five years.
