    Design of an intelligent maritime life jacket based on Beidou satellite communication

    • Aiming at the problems of low communication reliability and insufficient equipment endurance in maritime rescue, this paper designs an intelligent life jacket system based on Beidou communication. This system adopts low-power MCU(Microcontroller Unit), dual-mode positioning module and Beidou short message module, combined with a hierarchical software architecture, to achieve meter-level high-precision positioning, automatic alarm and low-power communication functions. In terms of hardware, energy consumption is optimized and alarms are triggered through boost/buck power management circuits and water immersion sensors. In terms of software, strategies such as timed sleep, modular power management and data packaging are adopted to further reduce power consumption. The shore-based rescue platform can receive the location information of people who have fallen into the water in real time, trigger sound and light alarms and track their movement trajectories. Experiments show that the system can still communicate stably under complex sea conditions, with a battery life of more than 72 hours, and is suitable for scenarios such as maritime rescue and fishery monitoring.
