Abstract
The model is developed for analyzing the busy degree of container terminal water area as for number of ships navigating or waiting-for-berth handling is concerned. Singapore harbor, the most accessed port in the world, is studied as an example. The research shows that Singapore harbor operates at full load all day long. In general, Singapore harbor water area is broad, but the anchorage and Berths are too concentrated, so, when a great number of ships arrives in the morning, the harbor water area is very busy.
